Reviews – Book One

In short, this is a beautifully crafted story, layered, impactful, and resonant. It handles themes of grief, loyalty, power, and the fragile dynamics of alliance with emotional intelligence and care. Your passion and attention to craft are evident on every page.
Your storytelling ability is exceptional, and I am genuinely excited to see what you create next.

Sometimes you run across a book that really makes you think. In The Reason, Goodwin has given us a plot that seems to unravel in real (true) time, with themes that are becoming increasingly uncomfortable. At its heart, however, this is less a book about political doctrine and more about the strength of family. Like Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven, the book explores the morality of taking another’s life. Of the brotherhood of soldiers. Of the bonds between husband and wife. The Reason is well worth a read, and I look forward to what I assume is more in the series.

Man this story is good! It’s relatable and plausible in current times. You go back and forth between the locations and people very well. Lots of detail but aren’t getting lost in the details. I am impressed! I am not usually one who reads much at all but this has got me hooked!

You choose good spots to switch back and forth as well. Leaving the reader wanting to continue so they can see what’s next for each (character’s) prospective. This is some nice work and for a guy who can’t stay committed to a book ever I am this far. Page 120 of book one in just two days. For me that’s unheard of!

Thank you for trusting me with your work. I must say, it’s a remarkable piece, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to read this manuscript. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience.

Here are my thoughts on your book

Wow! Wow! Wow!

What a remarkable piece! So this is my first time reading a military book, thank you for making my first experience a spectacular read! All I can say is you outdid yourself on this one! Wow! I felt every emotion! I cried, I laughed and was tense. This mix of emotion is really intense and vast, you did a good job bringing them all together.

“Final reflection: Tribe and family, the only things worth fighting for.”

C. – The Reason: Book One – Tribe and Family.

I just finished reading The Reason:Tribe and family. I give it a 5 star. The characters Bret and his wife Jen were so realistic and a team that worked together. Even though not in the same state. The suspense from each chapter kept you wanting to read more. It about survival and things going on in our own country. We already ordered Book 2, The Reason:Tribulations.

A good book of family and tribe working together. It keeps you in suspense of what is going to happen. Its about good people who are fighting against the bad people of our country. Waiting for book 3 to settle my curiosity.

Well-written follow-up to Tribe and Family (which I’ve also read). Always a treat finding a series you enjoy, and this one is great. The characters are well-drawn, and there are some really good villains! Particularly liked that not all family members are ‘good’ in the classic way. The author makes you think of war – not just in the patriotic sense, but what it does to families and the well-being of soldiers. Highly recommended.
